Tattoo Removal

At Riyaanz Aesthetic to remove tattoo we use high powered Q-Switched ND-Yag laser that emits a highly focused beam of laser light which passes harmlessly through the outer layer of skin and is absorbed mainly by the tattoo ink. As light is absorbed, it is quickly converted to heat. Sudden rise in temperature within the treatment target fractures ink or pigment into tiny particles. Tattoo ink particles are carried away by lymphatic system.

Tattoo's color, depth, and the chemical composition of the ink all affects how it responds to laser light. Black, red, dark orange and dark blue pigment tattoos will respond relatively quicker to laser. However, green, purple, brown, light orange and light blue colors may require more treatments.

Since the laser light selectively targets the undesired ink or pigment, other tissues; remain largely unaffected and therefore most patients report little discomfort. Many people compare the sensation of the pulses entering the skin to snap of a rubber band.

Immediately after the laser exposure, the treated areas become whitish colored and swell lightly. The whiteness subsides in about 30 minutes. The swelling may last longer but may be reduced by cooling the skin by an ice pack. Tattoo will start fading over the next few weeks.

Generally 6-10 sessions are required and it may vary from person to person. It also depends on the color and depth of tattoo.
