NAMASMARAN AND SOCIAL BOYCOT-- DR SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
NAMASMARAN
AND
SOCIAL BOYCOT

DR
SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
Student: Sir, people seem to avoid me. What should I do?
Teacher: Why do you think they avoid you?
Student: They don’t actually boycott; but they not contact me on their own, unless there is some important work. They don’t reply my mails. They don’t respond to my telephone calls. They don’t respond to my messages.
Teacher: Have you cheated or harmed any of them?
Student: No Sir. I have not cheated or done any harm to anyone. There has been no quarrel also! There are no issues of conflicts of interests also!
Teacher: Do you keep on talking about NAMASMARAN?
Student: Yes! I do that. But is it wrong?
Teacher: No! But it is enough reason for such informal, indirect or passive boycott, or avoidance. This is probably because of following reasons.
1. You may be appearing condescending, patronizing or authoritative; thereby offending their ego and producing inferiority or guilt complex amongst them!
2. You may be sounding arrogant and snobbish “showing off” or “exhibiting“; your “higher moral or spiritual standing”!
3. They may not be in a position to “share your vision” of the holistic renaissance and hence averse to your obsession!
4. There may be actually some element of ego and vanity in you that creates repulsion!
5. Or; your feeling may be a delusion! They may actually be; loving you intensely and interested in your activity immensely; but preoccupied and engrossed in their day to day matters and problems.
Student: What should I do?
Teacher: Persist in the practice of NAMASMARAN, listen to your inner voice, which is actually Guru’s voice and follow that. Be loyal and true to your Guru and none else! Ignore the responses of people, which keep changing beyond their will and wish.
In other words, continue your activity as a service to Guru; with no expectation of approvals or accolades; and no fear of disapprovals or dejections!

HEALTH MINISTER AND NAMASMARAN-- DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
HEALTH MINISTER
AND NAMASMARAN DR
SHRINIWAS
JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
Student: Sir, what do you think is an essential activity for a central health minister?
Teacher: Like any other minister; a health minister would be much better off if he pursues self realization through a simple and easy way such as the practice and promotion of NAMASMARAN.
Student: How would it help?
Teacher: He would grow from within. He would become more objective. He would get freed from subjective elements.
He would become more His vision, thinking, feelings, attitudes, passions, motivation, policies, plans, programs and their implementation; would be evolved. He would become more benevolent to the society at large and consequently to the world.
Student: Can you give an example?
Teacher: Yes! He would initiate on priority basis; a process of developing the concept, practice, teaching and research of holistic health and holistic medicine, which would prepare the foundation of democratization of health care and empowerment of patients, doctors and all the health care workers.
He would take decisions to ensure optimal working hours and working conditions for all the health workers, including doctors and nurses.
He would initiate the process of cultivating medicinal herbs and encourage the inexpensive and noninvasive modalities of treatment and rehabilitation such as massage, yoga and panchakarma.
He would initiate a process of collaboration with environmental ministry and bring restriction on chemical pollution resulting from mismanaged industries; and chemical and noise pollution and vehicular road accidents resulting from lopsided cancerous production and marketing of small vehicles.
He would initiate a process of finding out the causes of growing garbage, sullage and sewage and solutions to control this growth and improve its disposal.
I am sure the experts with holistic perspective can provide much more detailed and far more constructive suggestions.
Student: You mean to say that the present arbitrary approach would not succeed?
Teacher: From the present piecemeal and sectarian approach we have to evolve a holistic approach. Even the collaboration with other ministries such as agriculture, food supply, energy, laws etc. are essential for evolving and consolidating such a holistic and efficient approach to health care and health promotion.
Student: I this perspective holds true for all the ministers.
Teacher: Yes. That is true.
Student: Will this happen?
Teacher: This is a need of hour...rather this is compulsion of time. This will happen.

MODUS OPERANDI OF NAMASMARAN: DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
MODUS OPERANDI OF NAMASMARAN: DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR

Student: Sir, I wanted to ask you about how to increase NAMASMARAN sitting in one place? Apart from the daily NAMASMARAN, it's bit difficult for me to increase it. While working, walking here and there, I do chant as much as possible but feel; it would be more beneficial if I do more while sitting in one place.

Do you have any suggestions please? Would like to know.

Teacher: Thank you for stimulating me to think about NAMASMARAN from this angle.

As far as I understand, god our Guru; inspires, empowers and enables us to practice NAMASMARAN exactly in a manner appropriate to us. He also inspires and enables us to do activities, appropriate to us, which would promote and spread the practice of and involvement in NAMASMARAN.

As I understand, He likes us to keep anusandhan i.e. focus on NAMA; while we are busy in our day to day activities, SWADHARMA.

I don’t think our Guru has specified any modus operandi, such as sitting in place or any other.

I don’t try to sit in one place and practice NAMASMARAN, except in morning and evening for about five to ten minutes. I do not try anything extra. I am in one place, if I am tired, if I am not well or if I am in Arati etc. I am in one place if it is midnight, if it is too hot or too cold or raining outside.

May be, I am not mature enough or old enough to practice NAMASMARAN by sitting in one place.

But I am sure our Guru does evolve us and gets everything done appropriately through us, at an appropriate time and as per His wish.

Surviving the Summer Heat in Pregnancy
Even healthy people can get sick because of hot weather. However, the pregnant woman is at higher risk, and need to be extra careful in summer. When it’s hot and humid and you are pregnant, pregnancy can be uncomfortable. Heat and humidity, while unpleasant for most of the people, it takes a greater toll on pregnant women.

Being pregnant in the summer months poses some unique challenges for expectant mothers. Pregnancies are already uncomfortable. Add in the summer heat and they're even worse. Sweltering heat during the summer months makes moms-to-be feel like they're staggering to the finish line during the last mile of their pregnancy instead of happily anticipating a bundle of joy.

The usual pregnancy aches and pains aside, summer heat can pose some health hazards to expectant mothers who may overlook the fact that sun and heat exposure affects the body differently with a baby on the way.

Expectant mothers cannot forget that the sun and heat take a particular toll during pregnancy. A short heat hike that seems simple or even a night activity in prolonged heat can leave a mom-to-be feeling drained. It's important to listen to your body and think about the way the heat may be affecting you.

You must learn to beat the heat this summer and enjoy healthy pregnancy. The following points must be kept in mind for healthy pregnancy in this burning heat.

Dehydration: Summer heat plays an important component in dehydration, a condition which can quickly escalate into a more serious problem of heat stroke. Keep hydrated. Pregnant women are especially susceptible to dehydration. To avoid dehydration don't wait until you're thirsty to drink up, by then you're already water-depleted. Drinking eight glasses of water a day is important for several reasons. Water helps keep the body cool and energy levels high. It also can help reduce confusion due to increased contractions which creates worry and unnecessary trips to the hospital. Eat snacks that provide hydration such as melons and cucumbers. Avoid soft drinks particularly caffeinated ones as they will not quench thirst and can rob your body of needed water. Also being dehydrated can lead to urinary tract infections, a common ailment of pregnancy. Water also is an essential element to help maintain blood pressure which can increase an expectant mother’s dizziness if low. And water maintains correct physiology for a growing fetus. Always carry a water bottle while travelling.

Sunburn: If it feels like your skin is turning pink in the sun faster than it used to, it might be because it is. Pregnancy hormones cause the skin to become more sensitive, which makes some people more susceptible to quicker and more painful sunburn while pregnant. UV exposure during pregnancy can deplete the body's supply of folic acid —an important vitamin for fetal development. The best way to avoid sunburn problems while pregnant is to take the same precautions while not pregnant: Wear sunscreen, wear a hat and other protective clothing, be aware of the amount of time you spend in direct sunlight, and avoid the sun at peak hours in the day, when its rays can be the most punishing. Sunscreen can help prevent or minimize such issues, plus it's the best policy pregnant or not for safe skin.

Edema: Edema, or mild swelling, is common during pregnancy. The phenomenon can unfortunately become worse during a sizzling summer, when rising temperatures cause increased fluid retention which results in puffy feet and ankles for many pregnant women. Lying on one's left side, elevating the legs, and wearing support hose and comfortable shoes may help to relieve swelling. You should avoid prolonged sitting and standing and when sitting elevate legs if possible. While episodes of swelling may seem like the norm for many during pregnancy, it's important to notify your physician about sudden swelling, especially in the hands and face, especially if accompanied by rapid weight gain. In these cases, edema can be a sign of preeclampsia, a condition marked by high blood pressure, which can lead to seizures.

If you perspire heavily because of the heat, make sure you drink plenty of fluids. Water's good, but so are orange juice, milk, and sports drinks, which replace electrolytes that are being sweated away.

We all know pregnant women feel hotter in the summer months because they're carrying around all that extra weight, but as it turns out, their body temperatures are also slightly higher, which makes things even worse. This puts them at risk for heat exhaustion, because it takes twice the mom's energy for her body to cool off not just her, but her baby as well. And heat exhaustion, characterized by muscle cramps, excessive sweating, weakness, dizziness, and headaches, to name a few symptoms, can lead to heat stroke, which is very detrimental to the mother's health and that of her baby. It can even lead to pre-term labor or death. Hence it is utmost important to take proper precautions so that overheating does not happen during pregnancy.

Following are the tips where pregnant women can stay cool, comfortable, and safe in the summer months.

1) Drink plenty of water. It’s advised to drink water from time to time since we become pregnant. But it's even more important in warmer temperatures, when you're perspiring more and losing electrolytes. Make sure to drink water at a steady pace throughout the day, because if you are thirsty, you're already dehydrated. If your home is too hot, perhaps due to insufficient AC, then head out to the mall, a movie or even in an air conditioned car in the heat of the day. You need to keep an eye on your body temp, as too high and fetal damage can occur particularly in the early weeks.

2) Swim. Not only does swimming cool you off, it helps to take some of the weight off your sciatic nerve. Just make sure to wear extra sun block, as pregnant women are more susceptible to sunburn.

3) Wear breathable fabrics so you won't sweat; this will keep you cooler and help prevent heat rash that can develop under your breasts and abdomen, a common problem for pregnant women. Stick to cotton and skip the polyester.

4) Carry a water-filled squirt bottle so that you can mist yourself when you start to feel warm.

5) Exercise at the cooler times of day and avoid exercising to the point overheating.

6) Stay indoors. Remaining inside in the air conditioning on super-hot days is the best way to protect you and your baby. And if you must venture out of the house, try and avoid leaving the house during the hottest hours of the day.

7) Shower often. You may wind up feeling the heat even indoors, so taking multiple showers throughout the day will help keep your temperature cooler.

8) Eat smaller, lighter meals. Eating smaller, more frequent meals will keep your metabolism steady. If you gorge on larger portions, your metabolism has to work harder and generates more heat in your body which may affect you and your baby.

9) Get some rest. Sometimes there's no better way to beat the heat than taking a nap in a cool, dark room. This is one of the last times you can nap without interruptions whenever you please anyway, so you might as well go for it and stay comfortable in the process.

10) Don't over exert yourself. Sure, you want to stay in shape during your pregnancy, but working out in the middle of a heat wave isn't worth the risk. Now is the time to take it easy and not do anything that will make you sweat any more than you already are and dehydrate you.

11) Get indoors at the first sign of weakness, fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, or excessive thirst. Lie down and drink some cool water or electrolyte replacement liquid. If you don't feel better soon, call your doctor.

If you follow all these tips, you may very well be able to ignore the heat and get back to enjoying the excitement of awaiting the arrival of your baby. Summer can be a great time of year to get out and enjoy your pregnancy. There are many activities that can still be done during pregnancy, and with a few simple precautions, there is no reason you shouldn't enjoy summer. Remember to watch out for warning signs of dehydration, problematic swelling, or other signs that you need to call your practitioner.

THE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY: DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
THE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY: DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR

Student: Sir, what are the drawbacks because of which, we remain unsatisfied in personal and social life? What are the difficulties in globalization of NAMASMARAN, which is a panacea?

Teacher: NAMASMARAN; unlike a job or business; does not assure any predictable and measurable material gains. Unlike a cosmetic product it does not embody any sensuous pleasure. Unlike a movie, a TV serial or a novel; it does not gratify passions or emotions in a tangible manner. Unlike a success in examination or a victory in elections; it does not pamper ego.

Student: I see! This is the reason there is no widespread craze of NAMASMARAN!

Teacher: Moreover, since this is not a patented product; no one can get any profit by promoting it!

Student: I see! Due to lack of profit, pleasure or pride; even we, who practice NAMASMARAN, lack the conviction, zeal and fervor to globalize it!

Teacher: Precisely! The terrorists, the militants, the dacoits and even ordinary thieves, scamsters and other miscreants are “dedicated” to their missions! They are far more dashing than we, who we are completely buried in our pettiness; and all the associated drawbacks!
Student: What should we do?

Teacher: Through a consistent and steadfast practice of NAMASMARAN we get empowering and encouraging assurance and guidance from within to further practice and promote NAMASMARAN! This is my experience and this is also why; there are selfless people (far more dedicated and dashing than the miscreants), who grab the the golden opportunity to practice and promote NAMASMARAN!

A STAGE OF A MAJOR REVOLUTION: DR. SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
A STAGE OF A MAJOR REVOLUTION: DR. SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR

Student: Sir! What is your opinion about the present changes in India?
Teacher: After years of brain storming I identified that my basic passion as well as mission is Individual and Global Blossoming (IGB) or Total Stress Management (TSM). This same may be called SUPERLIVING or Holistic Renaissance. Later it became clear that NAMASMARAN is the way for this. Later still; I realized that maximum practice of NAMASMARAN and all efforts to globalize NAMASMARAN; with top priority; are prerequisite to this.
Student: But what are the initial and redeeming features or signs of such an Individual and Global Blossoming (IGB)?
Teacher: The emergence of selfless and visionary political leadership can be said to be the first concrete and redeeming feature! It appears that this is what is happening in India!
Student: What would be next stage?
Teacher: The next stage would be the emergence of selfless and visionary leadership in every field, so as to support, buttress and empower the selfless and visionary political leadership to evolve policies, plans, programs and their implementation for Individual and Global Blossoming (IGB)!
Student: What is our role?
Teacher: Everyone has different role in terms of details. It would vary according to one’s constitution and circumstances. But; the practice and globalization of NAMASMARAN; with top priority; is the common feature. This is the most essential, crucial and vital infrastructure or foundation for the Individual and Global Blossoming. This is essential for evolving individual freedom into self realization; and democracy into global blossoming; and prevent; the degeneration of individual freedom into petrifying pettiness and democracy into perverted pathocracy (governance at individual and social levels by perversion).

(Belief):

DECEPTION: DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
DECEPTION: DR SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR

Student: Sir, the deception may be in terms of breach of trust and unfulfilled expectations from spouse, family, friends, relatives, leaders, employers, doctors, traders and even governments. It may be associated with physical handicap, pain, loss of money and property or failures in examinations, competitions, elections, tournaments etc.

Teacher: Yes! The common feature of deceptions is; agony, humiliation, pain and misery. However; in spite of this fact; we continue to live and work.

Student: Why? Why do we live and work in spite of such misery? The strange thing is; we keep working not only in spite of deceptions but also in spite of several loyal responses ensuring fulfillment of our expectations! The question is; why?

Teacher: Our innate aspiration is neither defeated by such deceptions nor satisfied by such fulfillment of our expectations! In other words we are neither truly deceived or we are truly satisfied!
The true deception is being away from the innate aspiration of self realization through NAMASMARAN and the true fulfillment is being in NAMASMARAN; irrespective of all the other so called deceptions or fulfillment!
