CENTRE FOR UROLOGICAL SCIENCES

 Interventional Urology: It has brought about a remarkable change in the management of various urological diseases. The hospital provides well-developed interventional radiology services. Procedures like PCN, ureteral stenting, kidney biopsy etc. are done routinely. It is also used in the management of post transplant complications like urinary leak, ureteral stricture, lymphocele etc.

 Paediatric Urology: It is an important subspeciality of urology. Only a few centres have the facility to look after paediatric urology patients. The hospital has recently acquired a full set of paediatric endoscopes. Common urological problems like post-urethral valves, vesico-uretric reflux & pelvi-uretric obstruction are managed routinely. The operation theatre is well equipped to look after this age group.

 Andrology: A separate clinic is run by the hospital for management of patients suffering from infertility and erectile dysfunction. The hospital has acquired Rigiscan and Cavernosometry equipment, which are very important diagnostic tools. Management of these patients includes hormonal therapy, psychiatric counseling, intracavernous pharmacotherapy and various surgical procedures.

 Urodynamics: The hospital has the services of Neuro-Urology & Urodynamics. The facility of advanced computerized Urodynamic evaluation including Video-Urodynamics is available.

Carcinoma prostate can be cured if detected early through the latest investigations available today. The hospital has the complete range of investigative and therapeutic management equipment to deal with these patients. Current investigation modalities include Trans-rectal Ultrasonography (TRUS), Serum PSA (Prostatic Specific Antigen), USG guided FNAC & Multicore biopsies. The treatment modalities available are TURP (Transurethral Resection of Prostate), TUIP (Transurethral Incision of Prostate), TUEP (Transurethral Evaporation), Laser Prostatectomy & Open Surgery. The hospital is also running a cancer prostate-screening programme for early detection so that curative treatment can be offered to these patients. Lithotripsy: Introduced during 1993 for non-invasive management of different urinary stones the hospital acquired the world’s best Dornier Lithotripter in 1998. The hospital has conducted over 3000 procedures till date.

Ureteroscopy: This endoscopic procedure has revolutionized the management of ureteric stones. The hospital has the complete range of ureteroscopes (various sizes, both rigid and flexible) backed by pneumatic and ultrasonic energy sources. This optimizes the efficiency of the unit. Around 15 to 20 ureteric procedures are performed every month. Almost all ureteric stones can be managed by URS. Additionally, ureteroscopy is also a very useful diagnostic modality.

Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy: PCNL is a highly specialized endoscopic procedure for the removal of large kidney stones. On an average about 20 PCNL procedures are performed every month. Due to further up-gradation of the department, even complicated stag-horn stones are being managed by PCNL. The hospital is equipped with all the three sources of energy viz. pneumatic, mechanical and ultrasonic for breakage of stones during PCNL. The advantages of this procedure are:-

 Minimally invasive
 Short hospitalization
 Minimal morbidity
 No incision
 Minimal convalescence

CENTRE FOR ADVANCED NEONATOLOGY

The centre started functioning on 15 Aug 2004. The Advanced Neonatal Centre has been established as part of the ongoing process of creating super-speciality services under one roof.

We have a state-of-the-art, scientifically designed 24 bedded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 10 ventilator beds. Our NICU is equipped with SLE High Frequency Ventilator, Siemens Servo 300 ventilators, centralized oxygen & suction, portable X-ray & USG machines, and uninterrupted power supply over and above the usual neonatal care equipments. We can effectively and efficiently manage all the problems encountered in neonates like:

 Respiratory distress syndrome: It includes conditions like Hyaline Membrane Disease, Meconium Aspiration, Pneumonia etc. We have facilities to provide nasal CPAP or mechanical ventilation with adequate monitoring. Our neonatologist has a vast experience and technical know-how to administer Surfactant, if needed in these babies.

 Prematurity and low birth weight: 7% of babies in community are born premature (<37 weeks) and 30% are low birth weight. These fragile babies need special care, strict asepsis, thermoregulation and appropriate nutrition including Total Parenteral Nutrition. We have the experience and equipment to provide this care.

 Birth asphyxia: it is among the most common killers of neonates in India. Our unit can manage even the severest of these cases.

 Critical Care of sick babies: We have enough experience and facilities for peritoneal dialysis in acute renal failure and initial stabilization of babies with congenital heart disease.

 Neonatal Jaundice: A common but potentially dangerous illness if not treated in time. We have Blue light phototherapy machines, which are more effective. For babies with severe jaundice, we have facilities for double surface phototherapy and Exchange Transfusion.

 Neonatal Septicemia: This is another major cause of neonatal mortality in our country. In our NICU, we put great emphasis on asepsis and rational use of antibiotics.

 Neonatal resuscitation.

Out-door clinic: Our OPD services include Antenatal counseling of high-risk mothers, Well baby clinic, Vaccination, Growth and neuro-developmental monitoring and management of common Pediatric problems.

Sick Baby Ambulance: The weakest link in the management of sick neonates is their transport. We have an efficient transport team of well-trained personnel, equipped with a sophisticated transport incubator with battery back up, infusion pumps, vital signs monitor, oxygen and resuscitation equipment. We transport sick babies to our NICU from referring hospitals within a radius of 100 Kms. We intend to provide world-class neonatal care at affordable prices.

CENTRE FOR CHEST DISEASES & CRITICAL CARE

Critical care in its various forms plays a central role in access to medical care. Because of its dramatic display of medical intervention at its best, it is viewed as part of any quality medical system. The constant thrust for improvement of quality can prove significant for all who care for the critically ill.

At “Lifeline Centre for Chest Diseases & Critical Care” we aim to provide exceptionally high level of critical care & emergency services, and to recruit, maintain, and train a highly qualified team of health care professionals devoted to the care of the critically ill.
We offer round-the-clock quality service to our patients. Various facilities available at this Centre include:

CENTRE FOR NON-INVASIVE CARDIOLOGY

Heart disease and stroke is the world's largest killer, claiming 17.5 million lives a year. Eighty per cent of the victims are from low-and middle-income countries. Heart disease is largely preventable and simple, affordable steps can be taken to reduce the major risk factors. Controlling these risk factors helps the heart to age more slowly and dramatically reduces the risk of heart disease.

Early diagnosis and expert treatment are essential to being able to live a productive life. At Lifeline Heart Care, we can detect heart disease ... before it complicates life ..... with several tests that do not cause discomfort and are not complicated.

Our Non-Invasive Cardiac Laboratory is responsible for providing complete cardiac diagnosis through inter-related non-invasive methods and procedures.

The Laboratory utilizes a wide array of tests to help detect heart disease. These include:

 Computerized ECG
 TMT n 2D Echo
 Colour Doppler
 Stress Echo
 CT Angiography
 Thallium Scan

People requiring these investigative modalities include those suffering from:

 Diabetes Mellitus
 Hypertension
 Dyslipidemia
 Chronic Kidney Disease / End stage renal disease and
 Work related stress

We periodically conduct free clinical cardiac evaluation camps and offer subsidized investigational tests for the general public.

We shall be introducing Holter Monitoring & Ambulatory BP recording shortly.
