ONE QUESTION: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
What is the social application of the aphorism; that; “Everything happens according to God’s wish”?
Let us understand that even though the ultimate cause for everything in universe; is God’s wish; the universe goes on through the chain of causes and effects; such as ultimate, penultimate and immediate.
This aphorism is meant for reminding us to go to the root cause; rather than responding inappropriately; to merely the immediate and penultimate causes. Because; such inappropriate responses; perpetuate the personal and social evils; such as corruption and crimes; and terrorism and wars; respectively.
However; if we ignore the role of penultimate and immediate causes; then we tend to become inert and irresponsible; and absolve ourselves and others; from the involvement in corruption, crimes, terrorism and wars.
The social application of the aphorism; “Everything happens according to God’s wish” is; to reach the root cause; become objective and selfless; and heal the root, penultimate and immediate causes of evils in personal and social life.

TWO QUESTIONS: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

TWO QUESTIONS: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
1. Why is it advised by a guru that we should withdraw our attention from the urge of changing the world and pay attention to improvement of self?
2. Why is it said that everything works according to the wish of God?
1. The self improvement here; implies the process of overcoming subjective whims and fancies.
We cannot see the world as it is, unless we work on this self improvement and cannot respond to the circumstances appropriately. In absence of self improvement we generally respond in accordance with our gullibility or pettiness or both and keep on getting disappointed or delirious repeatedly. As a result we remain unsatisfied with ourselves.
Self improvement helps us see the world as it is and enables us to behave appropriately to the best our satisfaction; no matter whether it yields tangible results or not.
This can be understood also by the analogy of oxygen to self improvement. In airplanes it is rightly instructed to first use the oxygen mask yourself and then help others; so that you can help the others maximally. Similarly; self improvement through various means such NAMASMARAN is essential to help the others; maximally.
2. Our ancestors all over the world; searched for the causes of various phenomena in the universe. Many of them invented and discovered the causes of several physical and biological phenomena.
However some others were not satisfied completely as many phenomena remained unexplained.
They kept on searching through their dedicated study and experiments; the root cause of the thoughts, feelings, passions, actions, metabolic processes; and for that matter everything going on in the living and nonliving universe.
In the course of time; they did not discover or invent; but actually merged with the root cause! The state of being they experienced was variously termed; self realization, mukti, nirvana, samadhi, sthitapradnya avastha, amrutanubhava (experience of immortality and eternity).
They experienced that this state; unexplainable by any words; is beyond the human concepts (such as tangible cause and effect relationship) and beyond matter, space and time. They experienced this state as omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. They proclaimed through this state; the holistic perspective of unity of universe, space and time!
They “saw” that this phenomenon is the root cause of everything. This omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent phenomenon into which; several “seers” are merged; is called God; by some; and nothingness, shoonya (zero), maha-shoonya (great zero), maha-karana (great cause) or nature by others.
This is why; and it is in this sense; that even as the cause and effect relationship and its study are undeniably valid; everything works according to the wish of God!

BREAST FEEDING AND STRESS DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
After decades of working on STRESS MANAGEMENT; I have begun to realize that the seeds of STRESS are located deep down in the hormonal and metabolic activities. Hence the stress management workshops and counseling, which do not reach thus far; are either merely palliative, or completely ineffective or actually counterproductive.
The case in point is; breast feeding.
Breast feeding is a vital part of the instinct of parental care.
In modern days; women are forced to wean the babies earlier that desired. The mothers suffer deprivation of maternal instinct on the one hand and the babies suffer the deprivation of the instinctual need of physical proximity, touch and suckling on the other!
This causes severe stress in the mother and child; besides increasing the chances of breast malignancy and abscesses in the mothers; and defective growth and infections in babies!
This stress along with the other adverse effects; cannot be managed by counseling and/or stress management workshops! It cannot be managed by anything other than breast feeding!
Total Stress Management therefore; insists on adequate arrangements for breast feeding; especially in public places such as airports, railway stations, bus stations, schools, colleges factories, offices etc.
Let us understand therefore; the analogy; that the theory and practice of Total Stress Management is like the breast feeding, of the mankind by the Mother Nature! The Mother Nature meets in the form of Guru; called, mauli (mother), because he/she feeds us the divine sap of NAMASMARAN (the core of Total Stress Management) and blossoms us -the universe, even though we-the infantile mankind- is unaware of it!

LET US BE HEALERS: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

LET US BE HEALERS: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
Holistic health or complete health; is an ongoing process of improvement in perceptions, feelings and responses. In other words holistic health; is a continuous evolution; of the physical, instinctual, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities. But holistic health does not involve merely an individual, but involves the society also. Thus holistic health involves; continuous improvement in the activities in every field of life (e.g. agriculture, industries, education, sports etc.), aiming at or directed at holistic health.
We suffer from retardation, deficiency or defects in; perspective, thinking, emotions, instincts, and physical capacity, as the methods of blossoming from within; are ignored, neglected or suppressed.
As a result; we dwell in superficiality and pettiness and feel that “all is well” or “all is diseased and disintegrating”.
Hence we are misguided and trapped in spurts of instincts, emotions and thoughts, which lead to sickening motivation, ideas, plans, programs, and their implementation at individual and global level.
Becoming a healer is to develop our perspective, thinking, feelings, passions and physical being; and penetrate deeper, into the core of everything; and see and experience the eternal vitality. Education has to incorporate the training and practice of going deeper (and becoming a healer) in every career; and at all stages, phases and situations of life.
But how do we go deeper?
There many ways described. The one suggested here; is; the practice of NAMASMARAN. We go deeper within the core of ourselves and others; through NAMASMARAN; smoothly and certainly; although often non-dramatically and imperceptibly!
We begin to express ourselves intellectually, emotionally, instinctually and physically in any particular field we may be working; in a more evolved manner and thus be a true HEALER in terms of perception, feelings and actions!
What is the proof?
There is no proof and even there be one; it can always be argued that it may not apply to others!
But; do we ask for proofs for benefits; when we first suckle the mother’s breast, breathe our first breath or simply liking someone?
We do not verify the calories in our mother’s milk and/or O2 content in our first breath! Yet almost everyone has been practicing these and benefiting from these; through millennia; healthily; and from generation to generation!
NAMASMARAN; is akin to suckling or breathing and the stage has come when we as a specie is ready to “be delivered” and begin the “suckling and breathing” i.e. practice of NAMASMARAN without asking for any proof! We are on the way to be healers!
Rest of the aspects of being healers, are described in details in thousands of books and treatises of various systems of healing; which the readers can refer to!

STRESS HOLISTIC HEALTH AND CLAPPING: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

STRESS HOLISTIC HEALTH AND CLAPPING: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
The religious decrees, commandments, precepts, rituals, conventions, traditions are generally evolved and developed; with enlightenment as their seed, root, fountainhead, core, basis or foundation. In case of Hindu traditions; (and possibly Chinese, Mesopotamian, Mayan and such other traditions); this evolution has been a result of the enlightenment of thousands of anonymous; besides thousands of known; seekers of truth, sages and seers.
In case of some other religious traditions it has been the result of the enlightenment of prophets.
In other words, the traditions germinate from enlightenment; and also; are aimed at and expected to culminate in enlightenment. In other words the traditions are born out of holistic health and are aimed at holistic health.
However, as the time passes, the enlightenment, the wisdom and objective of the traditions becomes inconspicuous and obscure. This leads to blind and mechanical following of the traditions, which in turn results in degeneration and distortion of the traditions. These distorted traditions eventually become redundant, coercive, suffocating and disruptive.
One such tradition; the basis of which has become obscure is clapping.
It is true that we clap on many occasions which are not religious or traditional. We actually clap spontaneously to cheer; as an expression of appreciation, excitement and joy!
But more regularly, we Hindus clap during musical prayers called bhajans and aratis.
The clapping has some distinct physiological benefits conducive to development of holistic health.
The hands have relatively large areas of representation in cerebral cortex. Clapping therefore stimulates the corresponding large areas of brain; and is probably useful in activating, energizing and vitalizing the central nervous system and the central nervous control mechanisms in the brain. The quantitative and qualitative aspects of clapping; on neuroendocrine, endocrine and metabolic activities; and on various psychosomatic diseases; has to be investigated. It is also logical to guess and hypothesize that clapping could benefit to some extent in cases of depression of varying degrees.
Those involved in physiology of exercise, sports, athletics and gymnastics; and fitness in general; can study the specific advantages of clapping from performance point of view; and clapping can be advised as a part of routine workout for better results!
The investigators and the practitioners in the field of acupressure and/or reflexology can do it similarly in their field.
Rest of us can clap enthusiastically with great respect and gratitude for the ancestors of mankind; and try to search the wisdom hidden within other traditions; through the practice of NAMASMARAN advocated by several self realized and enlightened visionaries, saints and prophets.
But, what is NAMASMARAN?
Namasmaran usually embodies; remembering the name of God, Guru, great souls; such as prophets and whatever is considered as holy e.g. planets and stars. It is remembered silently, loudly, along with music, dance, along with breathing, in group or alone. Further, NAMASMARAN is either counted by some means such as fingers, rosary (called SMARANI or JAPAMALA), or electronic counter; or practiced without counting. The traditions vary from region to region and from religion to religion.
However the universal principle underlying
NAMASMARAN is to reorient our physiological and social being; with our true self and establish and strengthen the bond between; our physiological and social being; with our true self; and finally reunification or merger with our true self!
Since individual consciousness is the culmination of every activity in life; and NAMASMARAN the pinnacle of or culmination of individual consciousness; NAMASMARAN is actually opening the final common pathway to objective or cosmic consciousness; so that individual consciousness in every possible activity gets funneled into or unified with Him (our true self)!
Thus NAMASMARAN is in fact the YOGA of YOGA in the sense that it is the culmination of consciousness associated with every possible procedure and technique in the yoga that we are familiar with. It is the
YOGA of YOGA because it is the culmination of consciousness associated with all the activities in the universe, which it encompasses as well! It is YOGA of YOGA because everybody in the world irrespective of his/her tradition and the beliefs; would eventually, ultimately and naturally reach it; in the process of liberation. Even so called non believers also would not “miss” the “benefit of NAMASMARAN as they may remember true self through one symbol or another”!
Just as NAMASMARAN is YOGA of YOGA it is meditation of meditation also! This is because the natural and ultimate climax of every form of meditation; is remembering true self or merging with cosmic consciousness effortlessly!
These facts however have to be realized with persistent practice of NAMSMARAN and not blindly believed or blindly disbelieved with casual approach!
In short NAMSMARAN is super-bounty of cosmic consciousness for every individual to realize it (cosmic consciousness)! This is truly a super-bounty because a person, who experiences it, rises above mercenary, commercial and even professional and charity planes and manifest super- transactions in his or her life!
These are just few observations to give rough idea about what is NAMASMARAN. NAMASMARAN is an ocean of bliss. Its true meaning is beyond description in words and has to be experienced, not by one or few persons sporadically; but by billions!
The last point is; to start with; NAMASMARAN would enlighten, empower and enable some; out of those billions practicing NAMASMARAN; who would guide and consolidate the global conscience and thereby manifest global unity and harmony and justice, through globally benevolent policies!
