The self realization is discussed from time immemorial in world literature and probably would continue to be discussed!

But why do we find different semantics and subsequent divisions? Why do we find uncertainty, indecision in opinions, perspective, policies, plans and actions? Why do we find contradictions, strife, antipathy and conflicts?

Why do we find all this; even amongst ourselves; at different times and different situations?

The reason is; actually the “self” is not one entity. It is a congregation of several selves! Conceptually; the deepest self; or our core; is indistinguishable from the cosmic center, cosmic core or cosmic self.

The world literature constitutes the expression of obviously different levels of consciousness; or in other words; different “selves”! Hence the philosophies, ideologies, religions and different cults; have been articulated differently; and their followers are divided.

In fact; if we introspect then we find; that our expression is not of the same ‘self’ but of different selves; according to different levels of consciousness. Hence; they vary from time to time and situation to situation.

Through the study and practice of various theories and techniques; our inconstant and fleeting ‘selves’; may evolve to culminate in the ‘true self’ and our experience and language would be universally identical. Further; it would manifest in; globally beneficial perspectives, policies, plans and actions!

Let us realize that we all “express” ourselves; in thinking, feeling, aspiring, craving, procuring, interacting, transacting; and ruling, governing, writing, preaching; from different “selves” contribute to chaos!

The panacea for realization of ‘true self’; is; said to be; the universal yet simplest practice of NAMASMARAN. Hence; practicing, preaching, writing, publishing, broadcasting, sponsoring, talking, sharing; in fact; doing whatever we can; to promote NAMASMARAN; ensures individual and global blossoming.

The preaching of prayers and worships can appear to be the advice of impotency; to young mind.

The decrees to worship imaginary and yet unimaginable God can appear absurd and slavish; to buoyant and bubbling youth.

The concept of “Be good and do good”; can appear gullible, baseless and irrational; to pragmatic rationality.

The condemnation of sensual pleasures can appear ridiculous, and sensual pleasures can seem last word in pleasure!

This is because; we live at different levels of consciousness. We are trapped in different degrees of pettiness and superficiality. Hence; irrespective of our level of consciousness; it is wiser and healthier to accept the others; with their levels of consciousness; and endeavor for common blossoming!

It is said that the practice of NAMASMARAN can gradually emancipate all of us; from the suffocating slavery of being petty self into the freedom of being universal self! But; since the slavery is global; the present practice by billions; is not still not adequate! It has to be truly global; and at least optimum in intensity and number; to be effective!

When some of us buy vehicles; the first thing comes to their mind is that; it should prove ‘lucky’ to them. This is natural. They are scared of unknown factors responsible for mishaps. They are worried about the safety. They seek grace and protection of guru or God and hence perform a pooja of the newly purchased vehicles at holy places.

Considering the sincerity, devotion and innocence; in the act; one does not feel like raising philosophical or rational arguments; against the act.

Instead; it is preferred to suggest that the pooja of vehicle; should involve the following prayer.

“O Lord! Please grace this vehicle to provide us; such a service and environment; that we get focused on NAMASMARAN and get increasingly merged with NAMA. Since this is the same as self realization; it would be the true benevolence to us and all others. Thank you!”

COW CRUELTY AND CONSCIENCE DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

Yesterday; I read few incidences in the life of one of the greatest propounders of NAMASMARAN viz. Shri Brahmachaitanya Gondavlekar Maharaj from Gondavle of Satara district in Maharashtra (India). These were related to his compassion for cows.

He rescued cows on several occasions; from being slaughtered; even by paying double the money to the butchers. Several spiritual leaders in the world; full of concern for universal welfare or holistic renaissance; were and are against cow slaughter.

Many of us; argue against cow slaughter; with economic excuses and plead that slaughter of cows and other animals; are biological and hence natural phenomenon of “animals eating animals”. They plead this; as if it is a necessity for survival of human beings. Obviously; these are utilitarian views. They are deceptively attractive; but betray the soul and are treacherous to the conscience. This is disguised cruelty.
If our souls and consciences are to be cared for; and blossom; then the compassion in our heart has to rise above the cruelty inside and outside us.

The first expression of our compassion would be abstaining from eating meat. Second, would be to help people caring for and rearing cows. But such efforts to serve cows; at personal and institutional levels; are not enough; as the cows still continue to be slaughtered and eaten; by billions; even as their souls and consciences grieve!

Hence; an international law, convention and consensus have to be built up for at least; stepwise prevention of slaughter of cows; followed by other animals.

The usual question is; why cow slaughter first; before all other animals?

The answer is; I have inherited the special sympathy, care and even reverence for cow; as a Hindu. The rationalist may find this; blind belief or blind love. But; if they need no reason to love their kin and kith, fiancé, paramour or friends; then I don’t need any reasoning for sympathizing, caring, or even revering cow; even if they find it blind!

To start with this sympathy, care and reverence might have been ingrained as a part of the Ayurvedic or economic utility; of cow. But now; it is beyond any utility. In fact the sympathy, care and reverence for cow, without any petty selfish and ulterior motive is far more beautiful and soothing to the soul than ever before!

In view of our own holistic blossoming; slaughter of cows and other animals ; should be banned at least stepwise; even if it sounds stressful initially; to our craving tongues; used to the taste of kidneys, stomach, saliva, intestines, liver, brain, heart, blood, muscles, cartilages, bones and also; urine, feces, tears and the chemicals secreted during death imposed against will; of cow!

As far as the economic aspects are concerned; the conscientious political and economic leaders can surely discover professional and job alternatives; to those involved in the transactions associated with; selling, slaughtering and reselling, cooking and catering; of kidneys, stomach, saliva, intestines, liver, brain, heart, blood, muscles, cartilages, bones and also; urine, feces, tears and the chemicals secreted during death imposed against will of cows.

STRESS AND FANTASY: THE TONIC OF SOUL: DR. SHRINIWAS

One of the best aspects of Total Stress Management; is to explore and nurture the child within us and thus; live buoyantly, bubblingly and ecstatically!

Why is this so? Isn’t it true that during childhood also there are pleasures and pains? Isn’t it true that there is STRESS during childhood also? What is the big advantage of exploring the child within us; and nurturing it? Even if the childhood appears charming and pleasant because of nostalgia; aren’t there problems also?

The answer to this brilliant question; is; we do not explore the child within us; for satisfying the nostalgia!

It is because the child is full of vigor, agility and flexibility and most importantly because of openness, imaginativeness, compliance and receptivity. It is because of the ability of the child to listen, think and believe in itself; that we explore the child as a part of Total Stress Management. It is because of the quality of the child to instantly outgrow the physical restrictions and limitations; and envision several possibilities; without cynicism and skepticism; and enjoy; the fantasies!

Fantasy is possibly the greatest tonic of soul! From time immemorial; literature and art has been vitalized by fantasy and this ability of the child is a great source of strength that directly springs from its soul; not yet thwarted by so called logic, reasoning and rationality (self imposed restriction of ego).

Fantasies are tonic to soul in more than one way! Fantasies make us humble about our frail physical and mundane capacities; and simultaneously imbibe us with power and hope; through accepting the possibilities (which go beyond the subjective rationality, reasoning and logic); and thus conquering the otherwise “impossible” difficulties or STRESS; and accomplishing the otherwise “impossible” tasks!

The soul of an individual (referred to as the child within) is indeed trapped in the restrictive limitations of the so called logical, reasonable and rational (subjective) thinking; and hence; the child within us; i.e. soul gets freed and breathes free; through fantasies and we begin to live vigorously and victoriously!

This is why; besides typical fantasies; the biographies of saints; full of miracles are read with utmost love, devotion and reverence; all over the world!

This is also why; billions of people belonging to different religions, cultures and faiths; accept NAMASMARAN without asking for any laboratory proofs and practice it; in one form or another; just because it is advocated by most of the saints and prophets!
This is also why; those who are shackled by the subjective framework of so called logic, reasoning and rationality; trapped in cynicism and skepticism; and are imprisoned in the jails of their restrictive intelligence; cannot; and do not; enjoy fantasies, biographies of saints and also; the freedom of practicing NAMASMARAN!
