For America The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that more than one million Americans are currently infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Although its prevalence is higher in certain cities, among African Americans, and among men who have sex with other men, anyone can get HIV. And Americans continue to become infected at high rates partly because of the widespread belief that you won't get it if you're heterosexual, white, or educated.
Hiv can be easily prevented as Hiv virus is very weak dies if exposed in normal temperature for 3o minutes or if any contaminated linen ,plate or and fomites treated with bleaching powder, dettol, phenol, lysol, cidex, cetavlon, betadine etc.So in health centre if any contminated material is sterilised or let it dried in sunlight hiv dies so it is always necessary to sterilise the needles and instruments always and never use any needle or instrument without sterilising it.
Similiary if a mother takes HAART OR HIV MEDICINES regularly children born to such mother is often negative and similiarly if condom is wornduring sex with anonymous or unknown person whether homo or hetrosexual sex as condom effectively prevents hiv.Similiary if hiv negative partner of hiv positive persons takes hiv pre exposure prophylaxsis then hiv doesnot infect this person and even if accidentally contaminated by blood or by sex any ordinary person if taken post exposure prophylaxsis then hiv also doesnot occur to these patients.
Here are six reasons to use a condom every time you have sex.
1 .HIV is incurable.
2. It is fatal when not treated.
3. The medications to keep it under control have notoriously difficult side effects.
4. Condoms, when used correctly, are highly effective at blocking HIV transmission.
5 Most symptoms of HIV infection are invisible.
6.It is believed that one out of every four Americans living with HIV doesn't know he or she has it.
