HEPATITIS C IS A MOST DREADLY DISEASE IN USA AND UK WHERE MORE PATIENTS ARE DYING OF HCV THEN BY HIV .As once Hepatitis C  it gradually causes altered live function and gradually failure of live by cirrhosis and s live fails pt becomes serious and may dieand secondly hepatic carcinoma or cancer may develop.Similiarly Hepatits B is dangerous but less serious than Hepatitis C in the way that it can be prevented by taking vccine but both diseases occur mostly by blood contaminatins as seen after blood transfusion or unsafe sex more commin in INTRAVENOUS DRUG INJECTORS.BUT ALSO TRANSMIT FROM MOTHER TO CHILD AS HIV BUT MILK DOESNOT TRANSMIT IT.

IF HIV PRESENT WITH THESE DISESAE THEN WE HAVE TO START ARV MEDICINES FOR HIV IMMEDIATELY IRRESPECTIVE OF CD4 COUNT AS ARV ALSO DELAYS HEPATITIS TOO.

SOME HCV MAY CURE ITSELF (10-15%) BUT MOST DEVELOP SERIOUS DISESE IF NOT TREATED BUT IF HCV VIRAL LOAD IS DIMINISHED THEN IT IS TAKEN S CURED CALLED AS SVR ACHIEVED. BUT RE INFECTION MAY OCCUR AND EVEN FOR LIVER CANCER OR CANCER LIVER TRANSPANTATION DONE HCV RECURRS SO GOOD AND ESSENTIAL DRUG IS IMPORTANT ONCE CIRRHOSIS STARTS OR LIVER FUNCTION STARS ALTERING TREATENT SATRTED FOR HCV ,TREATMENT DEPENDS ON WHAT GENOTYPE OF HCVPRESENT GENOTYPE 1A AND 1B IS DANGEROUS NEED INTERFERON + RIBAVARIN + PROTEASEIHIBITOR NOW COSTLY SOFOSBUVIR(dollar 84000 for treatment cost) AND SIMPREVANIR HAS COME MOSTLY 24-48 WKS TREATMENT IS GIVEN BUT FOR TYPE ii OR TYPE iii ONLY RIBAVARINE + INTEREFERON IS GIVEN FOR 12-24WKS ONLY.

INTERFERON IS VERY TOXIC FOR HIV PATIENTS WHO ARE ON OTHER PROTEASE INHIBITORS TO CONTROL HIV SO ANAEMIA,BONE DEPRESSION AND DIARRHOEA MORE SEEN.

You do not need a liver biopsy in order to be treated for hepatitis C. The biopsy may provide information that can be helpful in guiding decisions but it is not necessary. Especially for people with both HIV and hepatitis C, pills alone without interferon may be used without having people have a biopsy. There are blood tests and other ways that your doctors can assess how much scarring is in the liver by Fibroscan and elastography new technique to asses cirrhosis ctscan and mri not helpful. The amount of scarring in the liver helps us make decisions about whether we need treatment right now or can wait for even better therapies in the future.

Remember that hepatitis C does not have a 'dormant' phase. Scarring can progress even when we do not have any symptoms. In some people the scarring is a very slow process. People whose scarring proceeds most slowing include those with well-controlled HIV, people who do not use alcohol, people without fatty liver disease.

I understand and respect your concern about interferon. Talk with your doctors about interferon-free options to cure your hepatitis C.

Isentress/truvada is a very, very liver-friendly HIV regimen, how wonderful that you are taking these medications.

Any person may ask for a second opinion. When you have concerns about the information you are receiving if possible a second opinion can be helpful.

now a days more important DDA MEDICINES HAS BEEN DEVELOPED WHICH PROVIDE MORE BETTER CURE OF HCV WITOUT INTERFERON BUT MORE STUDIES NEEDED FOR CONFIRMATION.VACCINE WILL BE REAL ANSWER AND MANY RESEACH GOING FOR THIS
