STRESS AND GANDHI: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKARIt is said that Mahatma Gandhi preached that we should not “see, hear or speak” ill about any one.
I have given some explanation about this in my book “Stress: Understanding and Management”.
But more recently I have begun to get new insight in this preaching, which is:
When we start “seeing” the root of the apparent universe, through the practice of NAMASMARAN; we begin to realize that the people whom we used to see and hear (perceive) as bad and hence speak bad about; are actually driven by the root cause (called MAHAKARAN and BRAHMA by some; and NAMA, by others) is actually common to all.
Further; we realize that these people manifest what we perceived as and spoke as “bad deeds”; according to their constitutions, on which they have no control, exactly as we manifest (what others may perceive and speak as bad); according to our constitutions, on which we have no control.
As a result; we realize our folly and begin to intensify our NAMASMARAN as preached by Mahatma Gandhi; like many other saints; and start experiencing greater degree of freedom from the stress of prejudice and cynicism.
