For the first time in India, robotic-assisted Radical Cystectomy and reconstruction of neo-bladder performed at MPUH Nadiad

During the week starting March 5, 2012, three robotic-assisted radical cystectomy and reconstruction of neo-bladder were performed at MPUH Nadiad, for the first time in India. The surgeries were performed by Dr Mihir Desai from the University of Southern California who have been visiting MPUH Nadiad from time to time to mentor and train the surgeons here.
Since the introduction of robotic-assisted surgery in MPUH some 16 months ago, more than 150 robotic-assisted surgeries, mostly radical prostatectomy, have been performed at the hospital. MPUH is the first hospital in the Western India to install the latest daVinci Si Robot.
You may like to watch, below, a TV-9 news on the first robotic-assisted radical cystectomy and reconstruction of neo-bladder.

WHERE IS DEATH? DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
WHERE IS DEATH? DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

Zero is extremely important and gives meaning to the language of Mathematics and its branches, ubiquitously spread throughout human civilization!

However if we carefully try to search the origin of the concept of zero, we find that it is an arrangement to comprehend, explain and maneuver the fleeting phenomena! Existence of zero is only with relation to the three dimensions and what we refer as past present and future; and their influence on our brain. We indicate with the use of zero; the absence of a particular entity in that place and time with respect to us.

Actually; how can zero i.e. nothingness exist? The moment we say zero, it implies presence of time, space, and us.

In fact; the origination of the concept of nothingness and its designation in terms of zero, (though in relative sense have tremendous practical value; in all transactions and scientific endeavors) have given rise to the dreadful concept of "end" and "death"! In absolute sense; zero does NOT exist.

In fact; this realization gives us freedom from fear and hence great relief from stress of thanatophobia i.e. the fear of death!

We become free to ask; "Where is death?"

This is only a piece of wild thinking by an ignorant individual with a humble appeal to the erudite readers to respond freely!

EGO AND STRESS: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
EGO AND STRESS: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

It is common place to feel sad when things, which we do not like, happen, or when things, which we like do not happen around. Usually this leads to perennial and hysterical grumbling and blame game.

But this is not all.

Ironically; the things, which we like and long for; also; when happen around; do not please us! We often see in different media many benevolent activities going on. We see great achievements. We see sublime stories of the successes of mankind. We see manifestations of nobility and magnanimity.

While we do not feel sad as such; we do not feel buoyant as well. Somewhere in the heart of heart we feel dejected, left out and sunken; because we miss the credit or accolades!

Why is this so?

This is so; because we are living superficially. We have not reached our own depths. At this superficial stratum, we are separated from the universe and hence can not relate with and handle the unpleasant as well as pleasant things appropriately.

As we are far away from our own depths; we fail to realize that the roots of these things are very much within us and we can transform, evolve and emancipate unpleasant; or promote and rejoice the pleasant processes of blossoming.
We can experience this if we reach our roots, which are no way different from the root of universe; the source of cosmic romance. This reaching itself is the panacea that ensures and ensues individual and global blossoming.

Reaching the root of universe is the same as transcending the ego. The ego is nothing else but the state of descending and being imprisoned in “our” sensations, passions, emotions, beliefs, convictions, concepts and ideology.

It is worth noting that; the ego is natural at developmental stages of life. Having ego is not unnatural or abnormal. But because we are merged in our ego unidentifiably; the very thought or imagination of transcending ego and realizing the self; is dreadfully painful, like death.

But as we mature; and actually transcend ego and reach the root of our own being we become truly ecstatic!

Truly; the universal practice of NAMASMARAN with top priority; without fanatic insistence on anything else; is a universal and most fulfilling superactivity that reaches us to our own core i.e. the center of universe; and engenders individual and universal blossoming.

One can also say; “The center of universe, the source of cosmic romance and the core of our own selves; referred to as GURU or SACCHIDANANDA; “frees” us from the imprisonment in our ego; at appropriate times and absorbs us in Him (with ubiquitously benevolent side effects!); by way of prompting the NAMASMARAN.

HYPE AND HEALTH: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
HYPE AND HEALTH: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

The bureaucratic set up with peculiar hierarchical ideas, advertisements, propagandas, publicity stunts and promotional gimmicks; often succeed in making us believe that; we ought to respect, obey, depend and emulate “them”; and live as needy, sentimental, gullible, obedient, meek and helpless believers!

This hype is further nurtured and exploited by maniacal criminals, goons, scamsters, charlatans, cheats, swindlers, pseudo-spiritual god-men, who are miserable and pitiable inside; but outwardly in glamorous and pompous façade.

Our body, metabolism, hormones, neurotransmitters and our central nervous system; are influenced variably by these circumstances, which shape our feelings and behavior; whereby we accept pettiness and superficiality as inevitable and natural!

If we get freed from these delusions created by hype; then we can assert ourselves boldly and engender HOLISTIC RENAISSANCE i.e. blossoming of individual and universe! But this is possible only through the process of self realization; through the practice and propagation of NAMASMARAN; besides other measures.

STRESS AND TEMPLES: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
STRESS AND TEMPLES: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

The stress is ubiquitous. But it becomes increasingly troublesome if we are sensitive. It becomes more irritating if we begin to understand solutions and can not implement them. However it becomes extremely and unbearably agonizing when millions of people seem to understand the solutions and agree; and yet nothing seems to work!

The immediate issue is that of the condition of thousands of temples in India, which for millennia; have been the sacrosanct sites of evolving consciousness, conscience and enlightenment.

Today; with few exceptions; these are surrounded by filth, garbage, pathetic beggars, undisciplined crowding, traffic jams, badly maintained roads and often antisocial activities. Many priests literally threaten and coax the devotees to squeeze maximum DAKSHINA money. They use different techniques such enforcing a sacred SANKALPA of donation.

There are several reports of indulgence in; marihuana, sexual abuse, cheating, monitory corruption, involvement of goons, interference of partisan politicians with vested interests; and so on.

This scenario of temples has lead to severe and almost fatal blow on our feelings; whether we visit these temples as mere travelers, tourists, visitors, pilgrims or devotees.

The very foundation of our life has been shattered. Our respect for our ancestors, our religion, our traditions, our customs and most importantly ourselves; has been eroded.

These temples have become the centers of deceptive escapism and sterile solace. Often they provide comfort to fraudulent criminals, who give vent to their guilt by donating. Truly; they have become serious lesions rather than healing centers! They have nothing to do with our life and the challenges we face every day. They neither educate nor empower us. They neither provide solace nor do they give healing touch.

However; in spite of all this many of us harbor superstitions because of the hope of personal gains and fear of personal losses; while many others lose all hope from these institutions and begin to resent, dislike or even loathe them.

Is this not really stressful?

What could be the reason?

We have to appreciate that; the individualistic pursuits and petty considerations (Kaliyug) have taken toll of the original ideas, concepts and functioning of temples. As a result, the centers of excellence in every possible way; which served to emancipate individuals and the society and emanated rejuvenating and revitalizing influence on most of the individuals visiting and participating in the temple activities (conducive to individual and global blossoming); have become the focuses of diseases.

Majority of the temples have not been able to keep pace with the time. They have lost their status of being centers of transcendental evolution. They are not even the caricatures of what they once were.

In these temples; no one studies, no one teaches, no one learns. No one works, no one produces, and no one creates. Hence these temples have become economically helpless and parasitic institutions dependent on the mercy of; government, politicians, donors and volunteers; most of who have ulterior motives. Thus pseudo and hollow celebrations and devotional activities have become means of ugly show, despicable pomp, criminal wastage, obscene vulgarity, offensive exhibition, bullying advertisements and cheap propaganda, through unpardonable extortions.

As this goes on: the properties of these temples; however; attract; the crooks, who are ever eager to capture them.

Can this be rectified? Can we conquer this stress?

Yes.

The ever nurturing core of cosmos and the cosmic consciousness is NAMA. NAMASMARAN is the way for all of us.

Through universalization of NAMASMARAN we can re-explore, rejuvenate and reestablish the glorious vitality, vigor, richness and benevolence of the temples. Because; through NAMASMARAN; we can evolve and inspire holistic perspective, policies and programs; such as holistic health, holistic medicine, and holistic education for global welfare.

WHAT IS SUPERLIVING? DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
WHAT IS SUPERLIVING? DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

From early childhood to ripe old age we are always in dilemma of making a right choice!

Millions of dilemmas such as which toy to play with, which partner to bond with, which seeds to sow, which shares to invest, which leader to trust, which guru to follow, which policies to adopt; get loaded in our lives!

The nature of dilemmas thus varies at different age and in different situations.

SUPERLIVING is a continuous, unending and yet fulfilling expedition of increasing the percentage of right choices; that enhances individual and global blossoming inspite of opposing forces inside and outside!

Apart from the holistic perspective, policies, plans and programs; the central core of the expedition of SUPERLIVING is; the universalization of; the golden opportunity to practice NAMASMARAN; right from early childhood.

STRESS AND READING: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
STRESS AND READING: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

The purpose of reading philosophy, biographies of saints and scriptures is to get freed from the delusion of being a mere a mortal body and identify one’s true self.

However, irrespective of the initial intention; such reading frequently leads to fancying and/or assuming oneself a guru or a spiritual savior of a caste, creed, religion or even mankind! The subjective experiences (often illusions and hallucinations) are publicized as miracles. There is a maniacal obsession also; to preach, persuade, coax, brainwash, convert; or oppress, repress, persecute and even kill others!

The person is pathetically confused and/or in conflicts; and makes others also miserable; in the delusion of emancipating mankind.

Does it mean that one should not read?

No! What it means is that this risk has to be preempted, by a simultaneous activity of NAMASMARAN i.e. remembrance of NAMA i.e. name of God.

NAMASMARAN sets free an individual from the state of inflated ego and the fancy of being a guru or a savior; and thus overcome the behavioral aberrations. In this way; it empowers one; to actually realize the truth; and contribute in his/her field; to the individual and global blossoming!

BEYOND STRESS IN NAMASMARAN: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
BEYOND STRESS IN NAMASMARAN: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

The arts, science, business, skills and such many human endeavors are ultimately traceable to the absolute or cosmic consciousness in every heart.

But the only activity that springs directly from and merges directly into; or is rather inseparable from the absolute/cosmic consciousness; is NAMASMARAN.

NAMASMARAN; gives us the fulfillment; which is impossible; by anything else. The fulfillment of NAMASMARAN is truly far more and permanent than the temporary fulfillment we get from romantic excitement, material achievement, or realization of some ambition, dream or aspiration.

I was not convinced about this; till I actually experienced. For instance; I felt that if more people read, understand, appreciate and bring into practice the ideas of total stress management, then individual and global blossoming would soon follow and my dream would be fulfilled. As a result, I made many compromises, which I otherwise would not.

But in the course practice of NAMASMARAN it became clear that; the writing on the wall; by virtue of it being the will of the cosmic wisdom; would come true; irrespective of whether the people are “able to”, or “oblige to” read and whether they appreciate my views! This sublime and ecstatic experience literally took me beyond this kind of stress; while simultaneously multiplying the zeal and zest!
This is the “non material” and hence “non tangible” “fruit” or “gain” of NAMASMARAN that is beyond one’s expectation!
When Gita asks us to work without expectation of fruit, she implies that our action (and not the fruit) determines the merit of our life. The result or fruit can ensue after extremely variable time; and cannot be qualified or quantified, especially if it is like the “fruit” of NAMASMARAN!
Thus the “fruit” of NAMASMARAN; while taking us beyond the stress caused by the “burden of a mission”; endows us with unconditioned solace, dignity, security, and fulfillment; irrespective of internal and external surroundings!

STRESS AND THE THIRD EYE: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
STRESS AND THE THIRD EYE: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR

Yesterday; I saw a TV program of discussion on the merits and demerits of competition in general; and the competition amongst the students in particular. The competition was blamed for the suicides amongst the students.

From above example; our peripheral, superficial, piecemeal and ad hoc approach; on a variety of problems become clear!

Thus;
For health problems; our solution is; more hospital buildings.

For lack of education; our solution is licensing more institutions and greater use of learning aids and stationary.

For beggars on the road our solution is; anti–begging law.

For traffic jam our solution is; a flyover bridge.

For unemployment; our solution is payment to unemployed people.

For suicides of farmers; our solution is subsidy package.

For price rise; our solution is import.

For socioeconomic backwardness; our solution is reservation policy.

For increase in crimes; our solution is increasing the number of police.

For the growing injustice; our solution is increasing laws.

For lack of progress; our solution is more foreign investment.

For shortage of electricity; our solution is load shedding.

For road accidents; our solution is compulsion of helmets.

For shortage fuel; our solution is sermons to reduce fuel consumption.

We can cite hundreds of examples to show how we work brilliantly and artistically; but with a superficial, petty, individualistic, fragmented, sectarian and divisive perspective; rendering our solution; ineffective and/or counterproductive!

This would continue unless we open the third eye of holistic perspective and go to the roots of the problems; by practicing the time tested ways of self realization; such as NAMASMARAN.

STRESS AND HISTORY: DR. SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR
STRESS AND HISTORY: DR. SHRINIWAS JANARDAN KASHALIKAR

As we are in impressionable at school age, many facts from history, which we read and learn, leave deep impressions on our mind. These impressions often can grow into prejudices, bitterness, bigotry, hatred, rivalry, fanaticism, unrest and riots.

Thus though it may appear ironic; the inappropriate learning of history becomes a cause of severe stress in personal and social life.

This is partly because the information is incorrect, appropriate or of the ambiguous in terms of values taught.

If the history books are studded with photographs and details of invader emperors, while the freedom fighters and saints are totally neglected, then it would foist the value of slavery amongst some and fury in others.

One of the examples of is; theory of “Aryan invasion” that surreptiously nurtures division of India into “indigenous dravids” and “alien invader Aryans!

Another example ambiguity of values; is that of the praise for invaders; in the same vein as the freedom fighters and glorification of the violent activities in the same vein as the nonviolent activities!

In view of the stress that results in personal life and social life, it is imperative to first be holistic, objective and unprejudiced and understand history. This way; we can explain the history to liberate from the past animosities, preempt the stress; and blossom together!

One of the simple, inexpensive, traditional and universal ways of being holistic, objective and unprejudiced; is the practice and propagation of NAMASMARAN.
